Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Reports To: Sr Quality and Regulatory Manager
Back-up: Regulatory Compliance Specialist, TPT
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Location: Remote, near Warren, PA
FLSA: Hourly
Overall Focus:
The Regulatory Compliance Specialist shall manage in hand with the Sr Quality and Regulatory
Manager the duties of State Registrations and tonnage, Consumer Complaint Management, as well as obtaining and maintaining the permits necessary for the importation of foreign goods and Pet Brand’s Foreign Supplier Verification Program. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist shall interpret and implement quality assurance standards throughout all states and localities where products must be registered. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will also assist in all documentation and retention of audit-sensitive documents. This individual will assist in implementation and management of State Registrations for Pet Brands branded products and privately branded products, implement new processes, or improve existing processes, as well as assist in providing continuous improvements to the state of TPC’s regulatory document library and current systems. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will work alongside the entirety of the Treats Regulatory Department as well as other departments to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
• Primary Manager of all State Registration and Renewal processes and tonnage as they apply to Pet Brands and privately branded products in the market.
• Maintenance of internal SharePoint for tonnage and State Registration document tracking
• Manage document renewals and expiration of supplier documents as they relate to the Foreign Supplier Verification Program
• Manage and support Sr Quality and Regulatory Manager through USDA Importation Permit application and maintenance for products requiring import.
• Supports the Sr Quality and Regulatory Manager with monthly management review and KPI trending for leadership team.
• Assist in the timely completion and communication of consumer complaints received from the Sales Team. Responsible for logging all complaints to maintain compliance with record keeping policies.
• Work with Sales and Artwork personnel to maintain compliance of State Registrations for all products.
• Manage and review state testing of Pet Brands products and troubleshoot any adversity that may arise as a result of testing.
• Completing individual state audits (ie. Texas)
• Review of new product and claims with the New Product Development Team.
• Maintenance and updating of HACCP Plan for Warehouse
• Reviewing and staying up to date on AAFCO regulations and state changes
• Assisting customers with regulatory questions and requests (Annual Questionnaires)
• Participation in HACCP/ Food Safety team for Pet Brands.
• Demonstrate all 5 Fundamental Values of TPC (Teamwork, Safety, Integrity, Innovation, Drive)
Qualifications –
• Required Qualifications: Associates Degree preferred; applicable experience will be considered in lieu of education, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, etc.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills; good attention to detail and ability to prepare and give written and oral instructions.
• Multi-project/multi-tasking capability.
• Ability to establish strong relationships throughout the organization and an ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to assist internal teams with change management strategies and processes.
• Ability to organize and work under time pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task and work within aggressive timeframes with minimal supervision.
• Execution of job tasks is essential for helping to assure food safety and food quality and prevent the manufacture of adulterated or misbranded products.
• Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.

• Ability to regularly function in a typical office environment and operate related equipment – computer, copier, telephone, etc.
• QA employees shall work in all types of conditions. There is an occasional need to stand, stoop, walk, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and perform other similar actions during the workday.
